FAQ

What is the First Step?

You may complete my contact form, providing basic details and asking any questions you have. I prefer to speak on the phone for a few minutes before scheduling our first appointment. This gives us both an opportunity to see if we are a good fit for each other and if I am the best fit to support you with your current needs. If I feel another therapist can better meet your needs I will help you with an appropriate referral.

What Types of therapy do you use?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

Coping Cat

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

What are your office hours?

I schedule appointments Monday 10-6, Tuesday & Thursday 9-7, and Wednesday 9-4. Therapy appointments are 53 minutes in length.

What forms of payment do you take?

I accept check, debit and credit cards.

Do you accept insurance?

While I do not accept most insurances (Aetna being the only insurance currently taken), if you would like to submit a bill to your plan, I would be happy to provide you with a bill with all the necessary information and your plan can reimburse you directly. Prior to starting services you may want to check with your insurance to see if you have “out-of-network” or “non-participating-provider” benefits. Your insurance company can tell you what portion of my fees they are willing to reimburse to you and whether you have a deductible that needs to be met before they begin reimbursement.

How long are appointments?

Appointments last for 53 minutes.

How long will I need therapy?

The length of time in therapy will depend on needs and identified goals for treatment. Some clients have very specific needs or goals that can be addressed in a short amount of time, whereas others have goals or needs that take more time to work through.
